Board Members

Terri Middlemiss, President

Bob Barnes, Vice-President

Lynn Overtree, Secretary

Lynn began her career assisting on wildlife research projects. She worked on the elk rehabilitation of Mt. St. Helens, the Hawai’i and California endangered species programs, New Hampshire endangered shore birds, western pond turtles and desert tortoises. In 1990, she began working in wildland management as a riparian restoration intern on The Nature Conservancy’s Kern River Preserve. She stayed at the Preserve as assistant preserve manager and eventually as the coordinator of the transfer of this property to the National Audubon Society in 1997.

In 1998, Lynn came to Monterey to manage the Palo Corona Ranch. Initially she managed the 5,000 acre ranch for a private individual under whose tenure the ranch doubled in size to 10,000 acres. She continued to manage the land under the interim ownership of The Big Sur Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy. She currently contracts with the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District to provide natural resource management to this and other projects.

For the past fourteen years Lynn has focused on wildland management. She enjoys bringing together the various elements that create a healthy landscape. She has coordinated research, surveys, cattle grazing, invasive species control, repair and maintenance, neighbor relations and visitation. Her related skills include creation and management of Geographic Information System (GIS) databases, project planning and management.
